Marcus gains Chartered Engineer status
An important milestone in the career of any engineer is to achieve chartered status and we are therefore delighted to announce that Marcus has had his application for CIBSE Member (CEng MCIBSE) approved.
In the words of CIBSE, this status is reserved for those “engaged in leadership roles with technical responsibility, developing solutions to complex problems.” In order to achieve Member status, it is necessary to demonstrate evidence of 17 competency criteria, which is done via an Engineering Practice Report and subsequent interview.
Marcus drew on his experience to meet these requirements and was backed by his sponsor Claire, who is a CIBSE Fellow herself. Putting together the application takes some time, but is a very structured process and helped by the guidance available from CIBSE. Resources can be found here: https://www.cibse.org/membership-registration/join-cibse/member.
Well done to Marcus for his achievement, and please do get in touch if we can offer advice to anybody considering going down a similar route.
