ACTIVISM

#EndGasNow

Along with many other leading organisations Inkling signed the #EndGasNow pledge in 2022. As it says on the website: “In 2019 we declared a climate emergency. Now it’s time to act like it.” Inkling will now be asking clients whether projects propose the installation of new gas or fossil fuel heating systems before we provide a quote. For everyone working in the construction industry, meeting the needs of our society without breaching the earth’s ecological boundaries will demand a paradigm shift in our behaviour. Together with our clients, we will need to commission, design and maintain buildings, cities and infrastructures as indivisible components of a larger, constantly regenerating and self-sustaining system in balance with the natural world.

VOLUNTEERING

LETI

Inkling have been involved with LETI since its inception in 2017. We are active members participating in a range of LETI activities including:

• Inputting to and supporting the Climate Emergency Design Guide
• Responding to consultations – especially the 2021 one about Part O, L and F
• Authoring an upcoming LETI Modelling Guide
• Supporting day to day LETI operations

CIBSE

We also volunteer our time and expertise to various CIBSE activities including

• Authoring publications (see research and publications)
• Writing articles or comment for the CIBSE Journal
• Contributing papers or providing peer review to the annual Technical Symposium
• Participating in CIBSE groups and speaking at regional and national events.
