There may be trouble ahead

Claire has contributed an article to the RICS Property Journal. The article discusses the effect of the upcoming Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Regulations on commercial rent reviews and lease renewals. MEES comes into force in under a month’s time on 1st April 2018 and makes it unlawful to let a substandard commercial or domestic property – defined as a property with an Energy performance Certificate (EPC) rating of F or G, subject to certain exclusions.
